I-SITE teamed up with the Alliance for Downtown New York to design and develop a new website for visitors, residents and businesses in Lower Manhattan.

Lower Manhattan is home to many of New York’s most popular attractions including South Street Seaport, Battery Park, Ground Zero and of course Wall Street. The site uses in-depth search, maps and events to keep the public up-to-date with everything happening in this dynamic section of New York.

Built on a Drupal CMS the website is also focused on attracting new residents and businesses. Over 8,400 businesses are located in the area south of City Hall and publishing giant Condé Nast recently signed an initial agreement to take one million square feet in One World Trade Center.

A number of the Downtown Alliance’s new programs are featured on the site including Free Public WI-FI spots, Food Tours and the recently opened co-working space Hive at 55.

Features of the site include:

  • Searchable maps, businesses and events
  • Events and listings updated daily
  • Event listing features such as what’s happening nearby and upcoming events
  • Map-based directions to and from any point in Lower Manhattan
  • Social Media integration for Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube

I-SITE is working with the Downtown Alliance on managing the site day-to-day and adding new features in the coming months.
