Challenge
DePuy Mitek, Inc., a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of innovative medical devices, turned to the I-SITE team to create a Web site to educate consumers on shoulder pain symptoms, related conditions and treatment options. The consumer site was integrated with a medical professional program to help surgeons elevate awareness of their practices.
Solution
With the goal of educating and driving consumers to visit an orthopaedic specialist, I-SITE focused on an intuitive, consumer-friendly design and concise, search-engine optimized content that helps consumers quickly understand their symptoms and available treatment options.
Key features of the site include:
- An interactive 'Symptoms Checklist' with a print-out for consumers to take to their physician.
- Consumer-friendly content on shoulder problems such as torn rotator cuff and arthritis with corresponding condition animations [provided by Understand.com].
- A 'Find an Orthopaedic Specialist' feature that directs consumers to specialists' sites where they can make appointments and view shoulder surgical procedure animations for easy understanding.
Results
Launched in summer 2006, the site is fast establishing itself as a leading online resource for the growing number of consumers looking for tools and information that help them treat their shoulder pain.
